Self-lie.

‘You are the smartest I've ever seen,

No other can be where you have been,

Showering you with nicest words that I never mean,

Though I look at you, I'm not very keen.’

Telling myself that it is the ‘truth’

I will it will become my will.

‘You are the most charming I can ever watch,

No one can even try to match,

Showering you much romance with a catch

Though I like you, I still need a batch.’

Telling myself that it is the ‘truth’

I will it will become my will.

‘You are the most creative I've ever befriended,

No one could be more defended,

Showering you with kindness that gets you offended,

Though I admire you, I want you to become demented.’

Telling myself that it is the ‘truth’

I will it will become my will.

But, not anymore will it become,

As I learnt not to succumb.

The turbulent stillness of human nature,

Whenever I observe them as various caricature,

Amused and contented by being the only one to nurture

My will, as I will.
